The aim of our client, based in London and Singapore, is to restructure the entire finance processes and transfer them globally to a standardized architecture. The core of the new architecture is the centralized subledger SAP Financial Products Subledger (FPSL), which is integrated with the general ledger SAP S/4HANA. SAP Financial Services Data Management (FSDM) is used to harmonize and standardize the pre-system data. The architecture is supplemented with the SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM) solution to map allocation and funds transfer pricing use cases. Business user interaction is enabled by standard tools such as SAP Business Objects from a reporting perspective and, above all, by a Fiori-based Adjustment Workplace. This is currently being standardized in a further expansion stage using the Fioneer Financial Control solution.
Our client's global operations in over 50 countries and the associated number of systems and project participants posed a particular challenge. In addition, a large number of technical processes had to be integrated into the new architecture and standardized.
In phase 1 of the project, all financial market systems were integrated into the new architecture. The classic FPSL approach with event processing was used for this. The Imported Subledger Documents approach was chosen to connect the non-financial market systems. The go-lives in both phases were carried out in stages using a system-by-system approach. Together with SAP Fioneer, ponturo was responsible for the complete implementation of the FPSL subledger and the Adjustment Workplace. All relevant activities were carried out in full:

The size of the project and the breadth of the range of tasks required the deployment of a diverse team of experts with functional, technical and management skills, who were able to cover all components and take on the necessary roles in an agile project setup. Due to the highly dynamic project environment, the team's in-depth expertise and many years of experience were a decisive success factor in providing stable support to the client.
Thanks to the project, our client is able to create a coordinated balance sheet and income statement on a daily basis via a centralized global platform at a highly granular level. A large number of functional and technical processes were standardised and streamlined. The business user has extensive standardized options for making the necessary adjustments and evaluations. Due to the great success of the project, the client has decided to significantly expand the centralized finance platform for further use cases, particularly in the area of regulatory reporting.
